The SGA entry way.
We are in the white building with the big blue stripes, just south of
84th
St.
See the "map" for our exact location.
New for 2005, adjustable pit bar!
Bar height can be adjusted, in seconds, from 3 ft. to 8 ft. and
anywhere in
between.
This is the same bar used at the USAG National Team Training Center
(The
Ranch).
That is where we got the idea. This thing is great, lots of
new
skills working in the pit.
New for the summer... Giant custom made spotting blocks!
Here we are using the blocks to make a canyon bar for pirouettes,
uprises, et.
Take the blocks apart and you have a platform for learning bails and
straddle
back,
as well as a beam table for safely trying that new series on the high
beam.
Come by and see what other uses we can come up with.
Added in 2002 is our 40 foot long tumbling trampoline.
This is a great tool for learning and improving your tumbling skills.
Our tramp includes an 32" thick, 8' X 16' dismount mat for soft, safe
landings.
And of course, it's lots of fun!
Here is our newest tramp bar, a 16 ft. incline tramp located right in
the
bar area.
A great place for learning pirouettes, uprises, tkachevs, & much
much
more.
Here is a shot of our foam pit soon after we opened. Under all
that
foam is a
state of the art trampoline self fluffing system. You can see
just
a bit of
both floor exercises. The darker (AAI) floor has access into the
pit.
Since this photo we have added a competition rod tumbling floor, pit
bar,
dismount beam and the new AAI "vault table."
Here is one of our setups for teaching proper technique on the new
vault
table.
New for 2004 we now have two 80 ft.+ vault runways.
Behind the vault table is our 8' x 12' instant "resi" mat.
It turns the loose foam pit into a resi pit, in an instant. (same setup
for
the floor/tumbling area)
You can also see our rod tumbling floor (56 ft.), it too enters the
foam
pit.
Just another great progression for learning some of the more difficult
tumbling
passes.
Now this is an uphill vault station!
Located at the other end of the vault runways we have our new AAI vault
trainer.
This a great place for making the transition from drills to the table.
The trainer breaks down into sections so even the smallest new level
5's
can use it.
Our uneven bar area includes AAI Elite bars (over resi pit),
Midwest bars, Nissen bars, and a high single/strap bar over 6" landing
mats,
as well as a loose foam pit bar (see our new adjustable bar),
and lots of floor training bars.
Here our some images of our athletes using the "strap bar."
This is a great tool for learning giants, clear hips, & stalders.
The large blue mats behind the pit bar are part of our "straddle back
machine." A safe and perfect set up for learning straddle backs
and
over shoots (bails) to handstand.
You can also see our "pit beam," great for working that new dismount.
Here is a shot of our team beam area. We have several AAI spring
beams,
Nissen beams, medium, fat, and low training beams. It also
includes an
"uphill" dismount area located in the back by the tumble trampoline.
We have a number of large resi mats, and skill cushions to place under
the beams when you are first learning that new series.
Don't forget our loose foam pit dismount beam.
Here is an interesting view of the gym from the Aussie bed Trampoline.
The tramp dismounts onto an 8' x 16' resi mat, good for drills.
This is a great set up for working front & back layouts, twisting,
doubles...
We also have a number of vault drills, good for those round off entry
vaults.
Come by and see for yourself.
