NEW for 2005: Video
delay system which allows the athlete to view each routine immediately
following completion. This gives immediate feedback and is
invaluable coaching tool. Also it is just really cool.
NEW for 2005:
Adjustable Pit Bar... lowers to 3 feet above the foam for work on toe
hechts,
toe on/off pirouettes... raises up to 8 feet for work giants,
dismounts,
and such. This is the same bar the National team uses at the
Ranch.
NEW for 2004/05: SGA
just added
a second 16 ft. inclined tumbling trampoline located in the bar
area.
This new tramp will be a permanent training bar station. Check
out
the photo below.
NEW for 2004/05: We
have also
added an Aussie bed competition trampoline with an 8' x 16' resi at one
end for dismounts off the trampoline. This is a great
station
for working front & back twisting and double backs. We now
have
two full vault runways, both going into the foam pit, with one runway
also
connected to an uphill vaulting station.
NEW for 2004/05: We
added a second vault runway. Both dismount into the loose
foam
pit. To go along with the new runway we added an AAI vault
trainer, great for uphill drills, learning complex round off entry
vaults
or that first level 5 handspring.
NEW for 2004/05: Canyon
blocks make a portable channel bar set up great for learning
pirouettes,
giant 1/1's, bails to handstand, and much more. They are
are
even great in the beam area for learning that new series or dismount.
NEW for 2004/05: Wall
pirouette bar... This set up is perfect for learning handstand
and
blind pirouettes. The 8 ft. wall, set at a slight angle, is well
padded and comes with a full size floor bar allowing plenty of room for
working new skills.
NEW for 2004/05: More
low beams! We have added two new low beams to the team beam area,
more places to safely work new leaps and flips. Also
new for 2005, we added a recreational beam
area at the opposite end of the gym. This allows class
gymnasts
to work on beam during team practice times without conflicting with the
team workout, and visa versa.

NEW FOR 2005, ADJUSTABLE PIT BAR
Adjusts, in seconds, from 3 ft. to 8 ft. and anywhere in between.
Great for working clear hip and toe on/off pirouettes, toe hechts,
low bar releases... you name it!
This is the same bar used at the USAG National Team Training Center
at "The Ranch."

New for the summer... Giant custom made
spotting blocks!
Here we are using the blocks to make a canyon bar for
pirouettes,
uprises, et.
See more photos on the facility photo
page.

Also new for the summer is our AAI vault trainer.
This is a great uphill station for working on your block off
the
table.

Here is a photo of our new 16 ft. inclined tramp bar.
This is the place to learn your giant 1/1 pirouette.

Here are some of our team members working on the strap bar.
This a great tool for learning clear hips, giants, and
stalders.

Here is a view of the gym from the perspective of the Aussie
Bed
Trampoline.
This is our "drill machine." (note the 8'x16' resi mat at
the far
end)
We have trampoline drills for front & back tumbling,
vaulting,
bars, and more.
TEAM TRYOUTS
Girls' Team
Training Facility
Over the years I have experienced a number of problems
with different
gyms and training facilities, as far as team is concerned.
Here is a list of some of the problems I have
encountered.
-
Unwanted traffic through the beam area. (athletes need to focus
while
on beam) Safety!!!
-
Preschool & class traffic over the vault run way. Dangerous!!!
-
Classes trying to use the Floor X, while the team needs to do routines.
-
The bar area spread out between regular bars, resi bars, pit bar,
single
bar...
-
Preschool set ups in the middle of the vault and tumbling areas.
-
Athletes playing radio stations you wouldn't want
your mother to
hear.
-
Unsupervised athletes, training or rather not training on their own
-
Team "stuff" falling out of cubbies and lying on the floor, and in the
way.
-
20,000 sq. ft. gyms with only 3,000 sq. ft. dedicated to girls' team
gymnastics.
-
Note: Girls' gymnastics is the #1 viewed
Olympic sport in
the world!
Sharp's
Gymnastics: OUR
Girls' Team Facility
-
We have the AAI vault table & AAI vault trainer, and of
course
you can vault into the foam pit.

bars,
strap bars, wall bar...

-
16 ft. tumbling trampoline training bar. Great
for pirouettes,
tkachevs, etc...
-
All the team bars are located in the far corner of
the gym, grouped
together and out of the way.
-
Great beam area with AAI spring beams, low beams, uphill and foam pit
dismount
beams...
-
Our beam area is located in the far south end of the gym. NO
traffic through our beams!
-
42' x 42' - 4" (Team) spring floor with tumbling into loose foam and
resi
pit. (classes have their own floor)
-
56 ft. competition rod floor into loose foam pit.
(great training
aid)
-
40 ft. tumbling trampoline, dismounts onto 8' x 16'
resi mat.
-
Aussie bed competition trampoline, dismounts onto 8'
x 16' resi
mat.
-
We have full size Team lockers, plenty of room for all your
team
stuff.
-
ALL of our "competitive area" is dedicated to Girl's
Team Gymnastics!!!
-
Preschool has a completely separate area that does not
interferes
with team practice.
-
Our coaches run the workouts, lead the warm-ups and
control the
radio stations.
-
Time delay video recording and viewing
equipment. (Now you
can see those bent knees, immediate feedback)
-
Plenty of skill cushions, sting mats, safety zones, wedges, spotting
blocks...
-
We have 25' high ceilings. Plenty of room to swing, flip and
bounce...
-
And of course... coaches who care... about you and your
gymnastics.
-
We are a club formed and built by coaches, looking to coach great
gymnastics.
-
In 2003 we became a U.S. Elite National Team Training Center.
Our facility is a great place to train. Since opening in
September
2001 we have played host to several State and Regional Training Camps
and
Clinics.
-
IN High School Coaches 2001, 2002, & 2003 annual
training seminars
-
2003 IN State USA Gymnastics Training Camp
-
2003 USA Gymnastics Safety Certification course
-
SGA Holiday Training Camp
(Great
opportunity to fine tune skills & routines)
-
IN High School Coaches 2002 Winter Clinic

over the state
coming to learn...)
-

Several coaches commented on the positive flow of our facility with
regards
to the arrangement of equipment at each event. Having a good flow
of traffic is very important for a safe productive training
environment.
Come by and see for yourself.
-
Region V Hot Shot Camp (145 of top young
athletes in the region)
-
Much more to come... (Sharp's Gymnastics is
the THE PLACE
